Yamaha Expands Blue Life Story Campaign, Debuts "Untamed Amazon"

Yamaha Marine expands its Yamaha Blue Life series with a new feature highlighting Untamed AnglingĀ®, a pioneering expedition-based fishing company that's redefining sustainable tourism in the Amazon through long-term partnerships with indigenous communities. "Untamed Amazon" shares a story about exploration, conservation and collaboration.

"We created Blue Life to bring the boating community together through storytelling, and the story of Untamed Angling is truly inspiring," said Frank Wilhelm, Advertising and Digital Marketing Manager, Yamaha Marine U.S. Business Unit. "As environmental pressures continue to grow across the Amazon, Untamed AnglingĀ® offers a proven alternative to traditional development, one that prioritizes conservation, cultural preservation, and sustainable growth. Yamaha is proud that our products play a role in the mission of Untamed AnglingĀ®."

For Untamed Angling founders Rodrigo Salles and partner Marcelo Perez, what began as a passion for fishing has become a platform for meaningful impact, demonstrating that responsible tourism can protect ecosystems while strengthening the communities that depend on them. The company takes a collaborative approach, working directly with communities to develop experiences that respect cultural traditions and preserve natural resources. This includes training local guides in fly fishing, hospitality, and language skills, while also supporting long-term initiatives such as the development of a native guide school.

Since launching its first indigenous partnership in 2007, Untamed AnglingĀ® has expanded its reach to include collaborations with eight indigenous ethnic groups across Brazil and Bolivia. Today, the company works alongside 56 villages, positively impacting approximately 5,000 people.

For visiting anglers, Untamed AnglingĀ® offers immersive, expedition-style experiences deep within the Amazon basin. Trips often involve travel by floatplane and river transport to remote locations, where guests spend six days fishing in some of the most untouched waters in the world. Each outing is guided by both a professional angler and an indigenous expert, blending technical expertise with generational ecological knowledge.

Operating in such remote environments requires dependable equipment. With limited access to service infrastructure, reliability is essential. Yamaha outboards have played a critical role in ensuring safe and consistent transportation of guests, staff, and supplies throughout the region.

"In the Amazon, it is not about speed or appearance. The Yamaha outboards we've run over the last decade have proven durable enough to handle this environment," Salles said. "It's about trust."
