Fish and Wildlife Commission to Meet June 12

HELENA – The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold its next meeting on June 12 at the Montana Heritage Center at 225 N. Roberts Street, next to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Headquarters in Helena. The meeting starts at 8 a.m.

Agenda items for the meeting are now open for public comment. These include:

  • Mountain lion quotas for fall 2026 – winter 2027.
  • Elk Hunting Access Agreements
  • Temporary Closure - Blackfoot River
  • Upper Thompson Conservation Easement – Phase 1, Region 1
  • Siskin Island Fishing Access Site

More information about these agenda items is available on the commission meeting webpage. Commissioners can submit amendments to any of FWP's proposals. Those amendments will be posted to the webpage as needed and will be open for public comment.

Your voice matters in this process. The commission is accepting public comment on meeting agenda items through May 21. There are two ways to comment before the meeting –

Joining by Zoom? You can comment virtually, but you must register in advance. Registration opens May 28 and closes at noon on June 11. Comment time at the meeting may be limited at the commission chair's discretion.
