The 2026 NASP® Western National Tournament brought together thousands of student archers, educators, and families for an exciting celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and in-school archery. Held at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, Utah, this three-day event continues to serve as a premier stage for NASP® student archers across the western United States.
Participation in the Western National Tournament reflects the continued growth and impact of NASP® in schools. Students who begin archery as part of their school day have the opportunity to step onto a national stage—demonstrating not only their abilities on the range, but also the confidence and discipline developed through the program.
Based on pre-registration numbers, the 2026 Western National Tournament welcomed: • Bullseye Tournament: 2,397 registered archers representing 289 schools across 25 states • NASP® 3D Tournament: 2,130 registered archers representing 218 schools across 21 states
These numbers highlight the strong interest in both disciplines and the continued expansion of NASP® 3D as part of the full NASP® experience, while also showcasing the national reach of the Western National Tournament.
Beyond the competition, the Western National Tournament continues to evolve into a full event experience for students and families. One of the most anticipated additions in recent years is the NASP® pin trading program, where teams and participants bring custom pins to exchange, creating connections and lasting memories across schools and states.
To further enhance engagement throughout the venue, participants took part in a scavenger hunt within the NASP® app, encouraging exploration of the vendor area and interaction with participating partners. This interactive experience added another layer of fun to the event, giving students a way to stay involved even when they weren't on the shooting line.
The Western National Tournament represents the full NASP® journey—from first-time archers introduced in a school gymnasium to experienced competitors navigating both Bullseye and NASP® 3D courses. As NASP® 3D continues to grow, it provides archers with a broader experience, encouraging versatility and rewarding those who excel across multiple disciplines.
Top-performing archers from the Western National Tournament will carry that momentum forward to the NASP® Championship, where they will compete alongside qualifiers from across the country.
NASP® staff now looks ahead to the next stop in the national tournament series, the Eastern National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, where thousands more student archers will take the line and continue the momentum of the season.
NASP® would also like to extend sincere thanks to our dedicated sponsors and partners whose continued support makes events like the Western National Tournament possible. Their commitment helps ensure students across the country have access to meaningful, in-school archery opportunities and experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
As NASP® continues to grow, events like the Western National Tournament remain a powerful reminder of what happens when students are given access to in-school opportunities—creating pathways not only for competition, but for lifelong participation in archery and outdoor recreation.
