Hook & Barrel Magazine, The Lifestyle Magazine for Modern Outdoorsmen, is pleased to announce Kenneth Piper as Senior Managing Editor. In this role, he will lead content production across Hook & Barrel's digital platforms, overseeing the Hunting and Fishing verticals. Piper will ensure stories are accurate, engaging, and on brand while maintaining high editorial standards and efficient workflows.
Piper joins the Hook & Barrel team after spending 26 years as editor of Buckmasters Whitetail Magazine, telling the stories that matter most to the nation's whitetail hunters. A central Pennsylvania native, he grew up hunting public land and fishing for bass and trout across the Keystone State.
Piper began his career in newspapers as a sports reporter before advancing into editorial leadership, including serving as managing editor at Mainline Newspapers in Ebensburg, Pa. He later transitioned into outdoor media, rising to publisher of Outdoor Times, a multi-state network of outdoor publications spanning the eastern United States from Maine to South Carolina. When he's not working, you'll likely find him chasing whitetails with whatever's in season.
Piper looks forward to this new chapter, and his goals align seamlessly with Hook & Barrel's mission. "Hook & Barrel is a fresh voice in the hunting and fishing space, and I'm excited to join the team," Piper said.
