Scopos' Intercollegiate Rifle League Results of Game 6

 

The 2025 - 2026 National Intercollegiate Rifle League, a national collegiate circuit featuring 60-shot standing air rifle in decimal with four scores counting to the team total, continued its Winter/Spring slate with the Game 6 match, the second of four this semester and sixth overall. University of Rhode Island totaled 2,328.8 behind 602.1 from Sophia Wood and 597.9 by Alex Travison, while Georgia Military College finished at 1,219.4 with two athletes active. Individually, MacKenzie Sookhoo led the field at 614.5, followed by Skylar Sanford at 604.9 and Wood at 602.1. College club teams may register here.

In updated 2025 - 2026 National Intercollegiate Rifle League standings by average, University of Rhode Island leads the team table at 2,313.5, with Georgia Military College at 2,297.7. Individually, MacKenzie Sookhoo tops the list at 617.4, with Sophia Wood second at 607.6, followed by Cheyenne Malone at 599.7, Skylar Sanford at 596.3 and Alex Travison at 595.7.

Game 6 Team Score Recap

In the Game 6 team event, Rhode Island posted 2,328.8. The Rams counted 602.1 from Sophia Wood and 597.9 from Alex Travison, with additional scoring from Annika Reilly at 569.0 and Riley Johnson at 554.8 for coach David Wood.

Georgia Military College finished at 1,219.4 while competing with two athletes. Sookhoo recorded 614.5 and Sanford added 604.9 for coach Lisa Kelly.

Individual Event Highlights

The Game 6 individual podium featured Sookhoo at 614.5, Sanford at 604.9 and Sophia Wood at 602.1.

Sookhoo established the early edge with a 102.8 first string to lead Sophia Wood by 1.9, then widened the margin with a 104.3 in the second series. Wood narrowed it to 1.3 after 30 shots, 101.0 to Sookhoo's 99.4, before Sookhoo answered 103.5–102.7 in the fourth string to push the gap to 2.1. A 104.2 fifth string from Sookhoo coincided with Sanford's 103.8 surge and Wood's 95.8, moving Sanford into second. Sookhoo closed at 100.3 to finish 614.5, with Sanford's 98.1 and Wood's 98.4 setting the final order.

League Format and Schedule

The National Intercollegiate Rifle League is a national team league for collegiate rifle clubs. Each athlete fires 60 shots scored in decimal; the team score is the sum of the top four shooters. The regular season features two parts — four games in the fall and four in the winter/spring — with competitions held every two weeks. The top three teams in the overall standings at season's end will receive awards.
