Optimal snow conditions are making this snowmobile season one to remember, and a long holiday weekend ahead will bring plenty of riders, including off-road vehicle riders, to the trails.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources hopes all snowmobilers and ORV riders are enjoying the outdoor opportunities and reminds you to Ride Right, so you make it home safe to family and friends.
Here are some quick safety reminders with Presidents Day weekend, Feb. 14-15, just around the bend.
- Ride at a safe speed.
- Ride on the right side of the trail.
- Ride sober.
- Ride within the abilities of your group's least experienced rider.
- Make a complete stop before crossing intersections or roads and use extra caution in reduced visibility conditions.
