Announcing the Winners of the 2025 Songbird Art Contest

Wildlife Forever is proud to announce the State, National, and International winners of the 2025 Songbird Art Contest, an international youth art and education program celebrating the beauty of songbirds while raising awareness of their urgent conservation needs.

The 2025 contest marked a record-breaking year, with more than 3,500 entries from students across 36 countries and 43 U.S. states, making it the largest Songbird Art Contest to date. Open to K–12 students worldwide, the annual competition invites young artists to explore the connection between creativity and conservation.

This year's featured songbird species included:

  • Black-and-white Warbler
  • Pinyon Jay
  • Purple Finch
  • Varied Bunting
  • White-breasted Nuthatch

Students selected one featured species and submitted an original, hand-drawn artwork inspired by their chosen bird. Participants in grades 4 and above also submitted a short-written piece reflecting their research on the species' habitat, behavior, and conservation challenges.

Within each U.S. state, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were recognized, along with 1st place international winners. State winners advanced to the national level, where entries were evaluated by a panel of conservation and creative professionals. In total, 12 National Winners were selected, along with two special honors:

  • National Best of Show
  • Art of Conservation Award
