Viridian's New MDS25 & MDS35 Optics: Precision Starts with a Better View

Viridian Weapon Technologies has expanded its Modern Dot Sight family with two optics engineered to accelerate response and sharpen decision-making. The MDS25 and MDS35 were built from the ground up to eliminate tunnel vision, reduce visual clutter, and give shooters a cleaner, faster path from sight picture to shot.

In a market long reliant on outdated, round-bodied red dots, Viridian's Modern Dot Sights move the category forward. Both models feature expansive square lenses, top-mounted internals, and refined visual geometry designed for fast acquisition and total field awareness—delivering more information in every moment a shooter spends behind the gun.

Built Around the Shooter's Line of Sight

Rather than adapting legacy tube designs, MDS optics are engineered from the shooter's visual perspective. Thin-walled housings and large, clear lenses dramatically increase field of view while relocating critical components to the top of the optic for an uncluttered sight picture and maximized situational awareness.

Viridian's green-dot technology and fully multi-coated glass deliver a precise, high-contrast aiming point while maintaining more natural color transmission through the lens, helping shooters stay locked on target in any lighting condition.

All MDS optics feature:

  1. 3 MOA green dot engineered for rapid acquisition in all lighting conditions
  2. Expansive, square lenses with unlimited eye relief for both-eyes-open shooting
  3. Top-mounted internals for a clean, uninterrupted sight picture
  4. T2 footprint mounts (absolute or lower 1/3 co-witness, depending on model)
  5. INSTANT-ON® activation with auto shut-off for extended service life
  6. 10 brightness levels (8 visible, 2 night-vision compatible) for true day-to-night usability
  7. 30,000-hour battery life (mid-setting), IPX6 environmental rating, and 6061 aluminum construction for duty-ready durability

Standard on both models, Viridian's BRC (Bullet Rise Compensating) Reticle adds intuitive hold points for 7, 15, and 50/200 yards. Designed to correct optic-over-bore offset and streamline close-to-midrange accuracy, the BRC also includes subtle ranging references based on known target sizes—enhancing precision without adding unnecessary clutter to the view.

Two Models, One Mission

MDS25 — Compact Power, Field-Focused

The MDS25 pairs a compact footprint with a field of view that's over 74% larger than typical dot sights, balancing generous viewing area with a streamlined overall length ideal for carbines, PCCs, and defensive builds. Its lens measures 21mm x 29mm, delivering one of the best size-to-FOV ratios in its class and a lower 1/3 co-witness mount for modern rifle setups.

MDS35 — The Dominant View

The MDS35 features a massive 36mm x 36mm lens designed for competitive, tactical, and hard-use applications, it delivers one of the largest, clearest windows available today, maximizing speed, awareness, and engagement confidence.

Engineered to Perform Under Pressure

From duty rifles and patrol carbines to home-defense and sporting setups, MDS optics provide the clarity and speed that translate directly into real-world performance. They don't just help shooters find the dot—they help them see more, decide faster, and act with confidence.
