SCWA Names Cynthia Nuckols as Camp Leopold Coordinator

The South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA) has named Cynthia Nuckols as the new Camp Leopold Coordinator, strengthening the organization's conservation education efforts for students across South Carolina.

Nuckols brings a background rooted in natural resource conservation and education. Raised in Nevada's high desert, her interest in land and wildlife stewardship developed early and continued as she and her husband traveled across the country, experiencing diverse ecosystems from the Pacific Coast to the Southeast. She joins SCWA with a strong appreciation for place-based learning and conservation.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and has K–12 classroom experience, equipping her to support Camp Leopold's hands-on, curriculum-aligned outdoor education programs. In her role, Nuckols will help lead educational programming that connects students to South Carolina's natural resources while reinforcing conservation principles and responsible outdoor practices.

"Cynthia's experience in education and her passion for conservation align well with the mission of Camp Leopold," said Jami Lisenby, Education Programs Director. "Her background and enthusiasm for learning will help us continue providing meaningful outdoor experiences for students statewide."

Outside of her professional role, Nuckols enjoys exploring South Carolina's history and outdoor heritage with her family. She is also an avid freshwater angler and looks forward to learning the state's waterways while pursuing new species.

Camp Leopold is a conservation education program of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, serving students through immersive, hands-on outdoor learning experiences that promote stewardship, curiosity, and respect for the natural world.
