The International Hunter Education Association–USA (IHEA-USA) continues to expand its commitment to modern, scalable hunter education through the EduTech Catalyst Fund, an initiative launched in December to connect outdoor industry support with the evolving technology needs of state wildlife agencies, nonprofits, and conservation partners.
The EduTech Catalyst Fund was created to fuel innovative education solutions that strengthen hunter education delivery, improve safety, expand access, and better support the instructors and volunteers who serve on the front lines of hunter education nationwide.
As hunter education continues to evolve beyond the traditional classroom, IHEA-USA is reimagining how technology can help agencies reach more new hunters, reduce administrative strain, and provide clear, accurate, and reliable guidance year-round.
"The EduTech Catalyst Fund allows us to bridge the gap between industry innovation and agency education needs," said Alex Baer, Executive Director of IHEA-USA. "This initiative gives our partners a meaningful way to invest in tools that modernize hunter education delivery, strengthen volunteer support, and expand access to safe, ethical, and responsible hunting practices."
The Fund supports new technology projects that help states:
- Modernize hunter education delivery
- Improve safety and information accuracy
- Strengthen volunteer support
- Reduce classroom costs for instructors and students
- Reach more new hunters with clear, reliable guidance
By aligning industry contributions with agency-driven priorities, the EduTech Catalyst Fund creates a sustainable pathway for building tools that can scale nationally while remaining adaptable to local state needs.
The Fund also serves as a foundation for future innovation projects, including digital learning platforms, AI-powered information tools, and next-generation instructor resources that enhance educational reach and effectiveness.
"The goal is to build technology that serves real-world needs," said Matt Clarey, Director of Business Development and Sales for IHEA-USA. "This Fund gives us a structure to collaborate with industry partners and agencies in a way that drives measurable impact for hunter education programs across the country."
IHEA-USA invites outdoor industry partners, conservation organizations, and stakeholders interested in supporting or partnering through the EduTech Catalyst Fund to connect with IHEA-USA to explore collaboration opportunities.
