Camp Woodie Announces New Facilities and Program Enhancements for 2026

Camp Woodie, the flagship youth summer camp of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA), has announced several new facility additions and program enhancements scheduled for the 2026 camp season. These investments reflect SCWA's ongoing commitment to delivering safe, engaging, and meaningful outdoor experiences that help young people build confidence, character, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.

New Multi-Lane Climbing Tower

Among the most anticipated additions is a new, large-scale climbing tower featuring multiple fully equipped climbing lanes. Designed to accommodate a wide range of skill levels, the tower will allow campers to challenge themselves on routes of varying difficulty, work collaboratively with peers, and participate in friendly competition, all under trained supervision.

New Waterslides and Swimming Enhancements

Camp Woodie is also adding two new waterslides that lead into the camp's swimming area, offering campers an exciting way to cool off during the summer months. These enhancements provide a high-energy recreational option while maintaining a strong focus on safety, structure, and supervision.

Expanded Staffing and Program Leadership

In addition to new facilities, Camp Woodie has implemented a refined staffing model aimed at enhancing camper care and instructional quality. New Camp Care Specialists will focus on camper well-being and engagement, while Activity Experts and Lead Facilitators will oversee activity design and execution to ensure programming remains educational, safe, and engaging.

"As Education Director, I'm incredibly excited for the new season at Camp Woodie," said Jami Lisenby, Education Director for SCWA. "We've invested in stronger programs, refreshed experiences, and a renewed focus on what makes camp unforgettable for every child."

"I am so excited to be a part of the SCWA family," added Kade Little, Camp Woodie Coordinator. "The organization and community have been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I look forward to bringing my experience to help make Camp Woodie the best place possible for campers and families."

Together, these improvements represent a significant step forward for Camp Woodie and further support SCWA's mission to enhance and perpetuate South Carolina's outdoor heritage through education and hands-on conservation experiences.
