Gadsden, AL. – Tournament bass fishing is not an easy sport and learning how to fish like a pro can take years. One way to become a better angler is to learn from the best, even if you just recreationally fish, and anglers can get that chance on January 20th and 21st in Gadsden as The Bass University comes to town.
Created by professional anglers Pete Gluszek and Mike Iaconelli, each Bass University event location features six current bass fishing top-level tournament anglers, who will present a total of twelve seminars over 2 days. Each seminar is approximately 45+ minutes and covers innovative bass fishing tactics, techniques, and tackle. The Gadsden seminars will focus on fishing in Alabama. Bass University seminars are 2-day events, but individual days can be purchased when selecting ticket options. Discounts are available for anglers seventeen and under. Additionally, all students receive a loaded gift bag full of valuable tackle and exclusive offers from our sponsors. Instructors in Gadsden will include Mike Iaconelli, Ryan Salzman, and Matt Herren on Saturday and Brandon Lester, Scott Canterbury, and Bryan Thrift on Sunday. All are current Bassmaster Elite or Major League Fishing Pro Tour anglers. The event will take place at The Venue at Coosa Landing.
“This is a great opportunity for area anglers to learn from top pros who have fished in the biggest and best tournaments in the country in essentially a one-on-one basis.” says Hugh Stump, executive director with Greater Gadsden Area Tourism, who is bringing the event to town. “This is one more way we can spotlight Neely Henry Lake as a top fishery in Alabama,” Stump said. Bass University is presented by FishNeelyHenryLake.com and Buck’s Island Marina.
