MidwayUSA Foundation Accepting Grant Applications

Columbia, MO – Each year, youth shooting teams with MidwayUSA Foundation endowments are eligible to apply for a cash grant. MidwayUSA Foundation is currently accepting cash grant applications through June 15. Cash grants can assist with the long list of expenses shooting teams incur throughout their season and beyond, including ammo, targets, range fees, competition entry fees, travel, and more. Nearly 2,000 youth shooting teams across the nation are eligible to apply right now.

Coppell Competitive Shooting Team from Coppell, Texas shared this about their annual MidwayUSA Foundation grant. “Cash grant funding has allowed us to maximize shooting opportunities for our participants and provide excellent coaching and mentoring. The cash grant program has been extremely helpful in allowing us to recruit new shooters and assure that they have the opportunity to develop skills for a lifetime.”

Collectively, youth shooting teams that apply for MidwayUSA Foundation cash grants reported having nearly $10 million in team expenses. The expenses that teams spent the most dollars on included ammunition [$1.9 million], travel [$1.6 million], entry fees [$1.4 million], and targets [$1.1 million]. Anyone with a passion for the outdoors can invest in the future of the industry by donating to a team endowment of their choice. Every donation grows that team’s annual cash grant, which helps with these expenses. Qualifying teams are eligible to apply for a cash grant once per year in either June or December.

In addition to cash grants, the MidwayUSA Foundation offers participating teams product grants to grow their endowment. These are free products, ranging from firearms to optics, that shooting programs can use to conduct a fundraiser in their community. Additionally, proceeds from those fundraisers, as well as general donations, are matched through the MidwayUSA Foundation Matching Program, funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow the shooting sports industry by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of today's youth through shooting sports activities. The Foundation supports all shooting disciplines.
