The North Dakota Game and Fish Department annually provides its best estimate for opening dates to help hunters prepare for hunting seasons.
Dates become official when approved by governor’s proclamation. Tentative opening dates for 2025 include:
April 12 - Spring Turkey
Aug. 29 - Deer and Pronghorn Bow, Mountain Lion
Sept. 1 - Dove
Sept. 13 - Sharptail, Hun, Ruffed Grouse, Squirrel
Sept. 19 - Youth Deer
Sept. 20 - Youth Waterfowl
Sept. 27 - Early Resident Waterfowl
Oct. 3 - Pronghorn Gun
Oct. 4 - Regular Waterfowl, Youth Pheasant
Oct. 11 - Pheasant, Fall Turkey
Oct. 25 - Mink, Muskrat, Weasel Trapping
Nov. 7 - Deer Gun
Nov. 28 - Deer Muzzleloader
