Adam Collins Receives Instructor Ranking
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PAULDEN, AZ - Gunsite Academy, the world’s oldest premiere firearms training school, is proud to announce that 41-year-old Adam Collins of Austin, TX has earned his certification as a staff firearms instructor at Gunsite Academy.
Becoming a recognized Gunsite Academy instructor is no easy task. Requiring hundreds of hours of training and attending numerous classes at Gunsite Academy, the candidate must then be recommended by a certified Gunsite Range Master. Once recommended, the candidate goes through intensive training, working with numerous Gunsite Rangmasters and Gunsite Coaches who ensure that the Gunsite standards of doctrine, presentation, and technique are met.
Collins has been a police officer in central Texas since 2012. He has been stationed in the city’s busy downtown entertainment and business district since 2016. Working in both a patrol capacity and in plain-clothes operations, he works various violent crime suppression initiatives, primarily targeting gun violence. Prior to his career in law enforcement, he served in the Army being deployed on several combat tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Adam’s interest in instructing began in the Army in 2002, when his unit was instructing members of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Force police in defensive tactics.
“Teaching has been a passion of mine for over 20 years,” said Collins. “Whether it was instructing in the army or coaching youth sports. I am both honored and humbled to now have the opportunity to instruct at Gunsite, knowing that it is the best in the business”.
Gunsite CEO Ken Campbell added, “Our methodology of selecting staff instructors starting back with Jeff Cooper over 48 years ago simply works. We identify real-life experienced men and women to enter our apprentice program. It is a challenge and not all succeed. We are proud that Adam was successful, and we look forward to a long future with him training good Americans to stay alive.”
