Commission Amendment Proposed for June Agenda Item

A proposed amendment for an item on the June 20 Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting agenda is available for public review and comment online.?The commission will meet virtually June 20 at 8:30 a.m.

The amendment, proposed by Region 2 Commissioner Jeff Burrows, would change mountain lion quotas in some Region 2 mountain lion management units (LMU) as follows:

LMU 210: 4 males, 3 females, 7 total

LMU 240: 2 limited license, 8 males, 8 females, 18 total

LMU 250: 10 males, 8 females, 18 total

LMU 270: 2 limited license, 10 males, 10 females, 22 total

LMU 380: 1 limited license, 5 males, 6 females, 12 total

The proposed amendment is an increase in quotas that were recommended by the west-central Lion Ecoregional Population Objective Committee and Fish, Wildlife & Parks but is a reduction from those adopted by the commission in June 2023.

Comments will also be taken virtually during the meeting from those who register; a link to register for public comment will be posted on the commission webpage before June 20.
