Wildlife Forever is proud to announce the continuation of its partnership with the Guy Harvey Foundation for the 2025–26 Art of Conservation® Fish Art Contest. Through the Guy Harvey Shark Award, this special contest category celebrates the power of art to inspire appreciation and action for shark conservation.
“Sharks play a vital role in the balance of our oceans, yet they remain one of the most misunderstood species on the planet,” said Greg Jacoski, Executive Director of Research and Policy at the Guy Harvey Foundation. “Through this award, we hope to educate and inspire young artists to use their creativity to help protect these incredible animals and the ecosystems they support.”
To qualify for the Guy Harvey Shark Award, student artwork must feature any species of shark and include an accompanying piece of creative writing related to the chosen species. The Art of Conservation® Fish Art Contest is open to youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade worldwide. One student artist from each of the four grade divisions will be selected as a Guy Harvey Shark Award winner. Each winner will receive a signed print by Dr. Harvey (valued up to $200) and will be eligible for additional national recognition. The deadline for entries is February 28, 2026.
“We’re honored to continue our collaboration with the Guy Harvey Foundation,” said Veronica Mangio, Education and Marketing Manager at Wildlife Forever. “Art has the unique ability to connect students to conservation on a personal level. The Guy Harvey Shark Award not only celebrates creativity but deepens understanding of how every species - including sharks - plays a role in sustaining healthy oceans.”
Teachers are encouraged to pair the Fish Art Contest’s Guy Harvey Shark Award with Guy Harvey Collections – Sharks, an educational program developed by the Guy Harvey Foundation and the Florida Department of Education. These K–12 STEAM lessons, inspired by Dr. Harvey’s artwork, provide an engaging way to explore marine science and conservation through creativity.
