Senate Confirms MacGregor to return to DOI leadership
Ducks Unlimited (DU) applauds the U.S Senate’s confirmation of Katherine (Kate) MacGregor as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior under Secretary Doug Burgum. MacGregor returns to the same position she served in under the first Trump Administration.
“Ducks Unlimited and the Department of the Interior have a longstanding history of partnership to conserve wetlands and other waterfowl habitat for the benefit of hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, wildlife, and communities,” said DU CEO Adam Putnam. “Deputy Secretary MacGregor is a proven leader, a passionate conservationist, and an avid outdoorswoman. We look forward to working with her once again to steward America’s natural places for future generations.”
MacGregor served as the Deputy Secretary of the Interior from 2020 to 2021 after holding several other senior positions with the Administration beginning in 2017. MacGregor also brings years of experience working on Capitol Hill, including with the House Committee on Natural Resources.
