Talented high school anglers from across the U.S. gathered for the third Skeeter Boats Bassmaster High School Combine on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Alabama, for a weekend combining skills challenges and recruiting visits in hopes of reeling in college fishing offers. The Combine’s overall points winner was Joe McNamara of Rockford, Ill.
YOUTH COMPETITION
“Clay Crushing For Youth” is an annual fundraising event hosted by Houston Safari Club Foundation. Funds raised are dedicated to HSCF’s ?youth outdoor education programs, outdoor experiences, and outdoor career awareness programs. Registration is now open for the event to be held Thursday, October 6, 2022.
The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF), in cooperation with the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) and Fishing League Worldwide (FLW), is seeking former and current members, coaches, advisors, volunteers, and sponsors of high school fishing clubs and programs to participate in a nationwide survey.
The Bass Federation’s Student Angler Federation (SAF) has announced the 2019 High School Fishing schedule, including forty-two SAF High School Fishing State Championships, three SAF High School Fishing Challenge\Open tournaments, 15 Bass Pro shops FLW High School Fishing Opens, eight state high school athletic association sanctioned tournaments and the pinnacle event in all of high school fishing the High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship.
The SASP (Scholastic Action Shooting Program) has already registered 1192 entries for their upcoming 2018 National Championships scheduled for July 14-21, at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio, making the event officially the world’s largest youth shooting event.
