- COMPETITION -
Jack and Sharon Wallace, German Precision Optics USA-sponsored husband-and-wife 3-D archers, both took home top honors at the International Bowhunting Organization’s Spring Nationals last weekend in Wilmore, KY.
William Penn and Iowa Central Community College dominated the 2021 Collegiate Skeet and Sporting Clays Championships this past weekend. William Penn took home first place team in Sporting Clays and second place team in skeet, while Iowa Central took first in skeet and second in sporting clays.

Hornady congratulates Jessie Harrison on her performance at the 2021 USPSA Team Motley Dragon Cup in Odessa, Texas.Harrison won High Overall in the Single Stack Division using Hornady 9mm 125 gr. HAP (Hornady Action Pistol) bullets loaded in her 38 Super Comp. minor.

The Texas A&M Forest Service recently acquired Fox Hunters Hill, a $1.6 million conservation easement consisting of over 2,387 acres of sustainably managed forestland adjacent to the Sabine National Forest.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is pleased to report that the Maryland General Assembly passed legislation aimed at helping the state control the invasive blue catfish population by reducing burdensome regulatory roadblocks that have disincentivized markets.

The National Wild Turkey Federation’s Wild Turkey Records Program began in the fall of 1982 and has since been the authority of wild turkey records for anywhere wild turkeys are legally harvested, accumulating over 27,000 registered birds. With recent upgrades to the NWTF’s website, the program will now allow harvests to be submitted digitally.

- VOLUNTEERS -
During National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, the Indiana DNR will thank and recognize those volunteers for caring for Indiana’s natural and cultural resources and salute their accomplishments on the Facebook pages of the divisions of State Parks, Fish & Wildlife, Forestry, and Nature Preserves.
- WILDLIFE -
As spring temperatures warm, bears are becoming more active, increasing opportunities for conflicts with people. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) reminds Florida residents and visitors to remove food attractants to reduce negative interactions with bears and other wildlife.

Bighorn sheep are rebounding across the American West thanks to strong conservation partnerships. A new interactive ArcGIS StoryMap, produced by the Partner with a Payer initiative with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, shows how funding from excise taxes on firearms, ammunition and archery equipment has helped restore bighorn in Nevada and beyond.

The Partner with a Payer initiative connects state fish and wildlife agencies and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program with the industries that fund conservation through the Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson acts.
