OWMA Honors ODNR Employee with 2018 Achievement Award

AKRON, OH – Allen Lea, from Canal Fulton, was recently honored as an outstanding employee and asset to all who enjoy wildlife-related resources in Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

 

Mr. Lea was recently selected to receive the 2018 Ohio Wildlife Management Association (OWMA) Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to wildlife research and management in Ohio while working for the ODNR Division of Wildlife for over 27 years. Mr. Lea has been serving Ohioans as an Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor, based at Wildlife District Three Headquarters in Akron, for 16 years. Lea has also generously served as the Historian of OWMA since 2002.

 

Respected by his fellow staff members as well as those outside of the ODNR Division of Wildlife, Lea has been an instrumental wildlife manager.

 

The OWMA first issued their Achievement Award in 1953. This award recognizes individuals across Ohio who go above and beyond to promote good stewardship of Ohio’s natural resources. Each year, the organization hosts an annual meeting, bringing together wildlife and environmental scientists, managers, citizens, and students to promote wildlife research and management techniques.
