ZEISS Continues Lead Sponsorship for The Biggest Week in American Birding

THORNWOOD, NY – May 2, 2018 – Carl Zeiss SBE, a leading manufacturer in high performance sports optics, announces its continued sponsorship for The Biggest Week in American Birding by undertaking the Kirtland’s Warbler Level Sponsor and also acting as the Official Optics of the event.

Organized and hosted by Black Swamp Bird Observatory (Oak Harbor, Ohio), “The Biggest Week” is a 10-day festival featuring some of the most sensational birding North America has to offer. Timed to coincide with the peak of songbird migration in early May, the festival helps attract more than 75,000 visitors to northwest Ohio each spring, generating an annual economic impact of more than 37 million dollars. To date, birders from 48 states and 26 countries have attended. The festival features workshops, keynote presentations, a variety of vendors, evening socials, and free workshops on how to get started in birding. In addition, the Biggest Week Conservation Fund generates more than $25,000 annually to support habitat conservation.

ZEISS will be displaying a variety of its finest binoculars including the VICTORY SF, Conquest HD and TERRA ED models.  ZEISS will also be demonstrating our newest spotting scope, the Victory Harpia. Conquest Gavia spotting scopes will be provided for field trip vans for participants to enjoy viewing over longer distances. ZEISS staff will be on hand to discuss optics selection, digiscoping, and can assist with any service inquiries that our customers may have.

A special promotion to benefit the Ohio Young Birders Club will see the donation of a TERRA ED 8x32 for their use with every VICTORY SF sold at the Biggest Week. The employees at Carl Zeiss and our brand ambassadors are advocates for young birders and programs that support them. In partnership with Black Swamp Bird Observatory and Time & Optics, the purchase of a Victory SF binocular will ensure a young birder in Ohio will be able to enjoy the wonderful experience of birding and nature through a ZEISS Terra ED binocular.
