This award honors an individual, corporation or organization whose work epitomizes the ultimate vision of the GTOA – to save lives. Consideration is given to those who have long-term commitment to promote officer safety, collegiality, sound tactics and professionalism.

The Georgia Tactical Officers Association exists to provide assistance to officers and agencies, within the state of Georgia, in the area of tactical operations research, development, and training. The GTOA's goal is to research and develop innovative techniques and methods of operation related to tactical operations, and provide assistance in the development of training programs.
By providing tactically significant information to special operations units and individuals the GTOA hopes to aid the tactical community, and better prepare these individuals for the threats they may someday face.
