Craig Boddington
If you are a hunter, chances are, you are familiar with Craig Boddington. He is a respected outdoor journalist and author that has spent the last four decades hunting around the globe and writing about it. Craig can also be seen co-hosting "Guns & Ammo" presented by Brownells on Sportsman Channel. This week Craig joins The Revolution and takes a closer look at the wildly popular 6.5 Creedmoor. It's been more than 10 years since this cartridge made its debut, however in the last two years there has been a surge in 6.5 Creedmoor product offerings and the hunters and tactical shooters with an interest in them. Craig says that it's a highly effective hunting round at moderate ranges, a great long-range target round, and it's also pleasant to shoot with little recoil. Tune in as Craig talks with Jim and Trav about some solid options if you are wanting to gift the outdoorsman or woman in your life with a new rifle this holiday season. He'll also discuss his favorite whitetail cartridge, the 7x57 mm and while it may not have extreme range, why its reach is more than sufficient for most hunters across the country. Finally, if you are looking for a present for the hunters around your tree this year, Craig says that a lifetime hunting license is an incredible gift to give.
Eric Rice
Tune in, listen up and take notes because Eric Rice from Sticky Holsters joins us this week to showcase what, we feel like, is one of the best concealed carry holsters we've ever used. Sticky Holsters utilize a synthetic rubber or "sticky" material on the outside that creates a non-slip surface when carried in the waistband or creates friction when carried in the pocket. In either instance, this gives you easy access to your firearm and the sticky surface ensures that the holster stays in place and in turn gives you a smooth draw. The idea is simple, yet highly effective. It is a low profile carry option with no loops or clips and because the design is based on compression when wearing your holster in the waistband, no belt is necessary. So, Sticky Holsters can be worn in your gym shorts, yoga pants or any pant with sufficient compression in the waist. However, the options don't end there. Sticky Holsters has developed optional carry accessories like their AnkleBiter, an ankle wrap system that works in conjunction with your Sticky Holster and a versatile Travel Mount that can be installed virtually anywhere for off body carry. Eric will also showcase their line of Everyday Carry Products like cell phone holders and wallets that work just like a Sticky Holster and allow you to carry just the essentials in a low-profile way, right in your waistband. Sticky Holsters are 100% American made, versatile, and affordable making them a great gift! Eric tells Jim and Trav that if you want to give Sticky Holsters as a gift, but don't know the make or model of the firearm for the person you are buying it for, they offer e-Gift Cards. Tune in and check out these great options for concealed carry and everyday carry from Sticky Holsters.
Eric Poole
The year is drawing to a close, but Guns & Ammo magazine is celebrating the best of 2017 with awards for the best firearms, optics, ammunition, suppressors and innovations. Eric Poole is the editor of Guns & Ammo magazine and the co-host of "Guns & Ammo" presented by Brownells on Sportsman Channel. He stops by The Revolution this week to highlight some of the Guns & Ammo of the Year Awards. Eric says that the CZ P-10 C took home top honors as Handgun of the Year as an accurate, reliable piece with a more affordable price than its similar challenger, the Glock 19. Next up for Rifle of the Year is the Barrett Fieldcraft. This bolt action is great for the field, but is a bit pricier than some of its economical counterparts. However, Eric tells Jim and Trav that if you are wanting a more custom rifle that would generally run you $4,000-$5,000, that this is an exceptional choice with the best of both worlds for only $1,800. Shotgun of the Year went to the Winchester SX4. Shotgunners are particular about their guns, they want exceptional performance, even in the worst conditions. Eric says that the SX4 handles great, swings light, cycles fast, and can run three different sized shells and is perfect for those passionate wing shooters. And finally, he'll talk about the Optic of the Year, the Leupold VX-3i Long Range Precision (LRP). In particular, Eric hits on the Custom Dial System where Leupold customizes your scope's elevation dial to match your exact load, velocity, and conditions for extreme precision. Check out Guns & Ammo for a complete guide to their 2017 Guns and Ammo of the Year Awards and don't miss Eric Poole this week on The Revolution.
