SCI Honors Hunting Achievements at Night of the Hunter Celebration

SCI will recognize the accomplishments of members' participation in the Record Book and World Hunting Awards during the annual Night of the Hunter Gala Celebration at the 2018 SCI Hunters' Convention in Las Vegas on Thursday, February 1, starting at 6:30 pm. The evening features fine food and drink along with Vegas style hospitality.

The SCI Record Book is one of the original documents the founders of SCI created in 1977 to document their members' hunting achievements. As membership grew, the club developed a variety of ways for members to explore new hunting adventures. The Record Book helped other members plan excursions, containing a wealth of information about outfitters and hunting destinations. The World Hunting Award program grew out of the different award categories that were created, including the Continental Awards, Milestones and Inner Circles. As members submit record book and photo entries, they begin to qualify for the different award categories. Members purchase awards and entries into the record book with 100% of net proceeds from the purchase of awards going toward anti-poaching and conservation efforts.

The Night of the Hunter event features several award presentations, including the Young Hunter Award, Fourth Pinnacle of Achievement, Zenith Award, Crowning Achievement Award and the top two awards presented to SCI members - the World Hunting Award and the World Hunting and Conservation Award.

This year's sponsor for Night of the Hunter will be the Ox Ranch in Uvalde, Texas. Ox Ranch offers over 18,000 acres of prime hunting for both exotic and native game species, as well as other great activities, including wildlife viewing and even the chance to fire a World War II Sherman tank. "Everyone here at Ox Ranch is excited to sponsor the SCI Night of the Hunter Gala Celebration," said Jason Molitor, Ox Ranch CEO. "Night of the Hunter recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of SCI members and their hard work and dedication to conservation and the pursuit of wild game all over the world."
