Colorado: Fishing Clinics, New App Make Angling Easy

Colorado Fishing

Fishing in Colorado means opportunity and a chance to catch some 35 species of both warm- and cold-water fish. You can fish for the famed rainbow trout in a cool Rocky Mountain stream or troll for walleye on a sunny plains reservoir. And Colorado offers everything in between, too. There are 6,000 miles of streams and more than 2,000 lakes and reservoirs to choose from.

An annual license is good April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. CPW provides a range of options for anglers from the annual fishing license to the one-day fishing license. Youth under age 16 can fish for free. Buy a fishing license today!

CPW provides opportunities throughout the season to learn how to fish. For upcoming clinics, check the calendar.
