The Elite Redfish Series Introduces Full Pro-Am Format for 2018
Nederland, TX. – The Elite Redfish Series, the leading redfish tournament series on the Gulf Coast, today announces that beginning in 2018 the Elite Redfish Series will produce the first, truly Pro Am Redfish Series. This exciting new format will feature a professional division made up of 50 adult anglers in good standing and an amateur field made up of high school athletes, who currently compete in high school bass tournaments and know their way around a boat.

In this series the pros and amateurs will each pay separate entry fees while competing for their own paybacks. Each pro will weigh in their best two legal redfish with each amateur weighing in their single best legal redfish. No shared weights, no teaming up.

The pros will be guaranteed a $10,000.00 top prize at each event plus a $1,000.00 bonus should their amateur win. Pros will also be eligible to win a HeadTurning angler of the year prize like this year's awesome Skeeter/Yamaha rig valued at over $65,000. Amateurs will compete for top cash and prizes as well and an amateur angler of the year prize. Limited sponsorship opportunities are still available for this exciting new redfish tournament series.

Pursuant to this series kicking off in 2018 the Elite Redfish Series is inviting the first 50 pros and 50 amateur high school athletes to get signed up today for a one day open Pro Am taking place October 6-7 in conjunction with the S.A.L.T. club on Pleasure Island in Port Arthur, TX. Entry fee for this event is $500.00 per pro and $100.00 per amateur with the captain's meeting / pairings party taking place on Friday evening October 6th and the tournament being a one day event on Saturday October 7th. This event will serve as the single qualifier for the 2018 Elite Redfish Series as well.

"This is a very exciting new format for our tournament series," said Pat Malone, Executive Director and Producer of the Elite Redfish Series. "We have had incredible interest from both amateurs and professionals to add in a amateur division and get them involved in our tournaments early. This now allows the very best professional anglers who perform at the sport's highest level to partner with High School anglers. This new format will be the first of its kind. Our anglers and our sponsors are very excited about getting young people more involved in our sport and this really helps fill a void in redfish tournament fishing."

Elite Redfish Series pro, Dwayne Eschete put it this way, "anytime you can involve the youth in the outdoors whether it's hunting or fishing I am all in, sign me up for anything that allows me to give something back for the great outdoor heritage that has been passed down to me".

As one of the most successful professional redfish tournament series in the United States, the Elite Redfish Series features the best professional anglers in the sport. The series features 7 tournaments across the Gulf Coast States and continues to strive to create HeadTurning events for the anglers and their families, sponsors, friends, fans and communities where Elite tournaments are held.
