Primos Hunting and Kalkomey Receive QDMA's 2017 Hunting Heritage Award

ATHENS, GA – The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is pleased to announce that Primos Hunting and Kalkomey were awarded the association's 2017 Hunting Heritage Award at its National Convention last week in New Orleans.

The award recognizes significant contributions to our hunting heritage – those with the potential to make lasting impacts for current and future generations of hunters. Both companies were recognized for their contributions to the award-winning e-book QDMA's Guide to Successful Deer Hunting.

"This e-book is a perfect example of a partnership where all parties bring something valuable to the table to create something meaningful," said QDMA CEO Brian Murphy. QDMA wrote the chapters, Primos Hunting provided the video support and Kalkomey produced the e-book.

"Opportunities like this to partner with people who get it, like the folks at Kalkomey, and be guided by QDMA's vision do not come along every day," said Primos Hunting CEO Will Primos.

QDMA's Guide to Successful Deer Hunting is 267 pages long and includes 15 chapters. Major subjects are expanded upon in 18 embedded videos. Dozens of full color photos help illustrate the chapters, and links to external resources and articles allow readers to explore every topic in greater depth as desired.

"Primos Hunting is proud to receive QDMA's 2017 Hunting Heritage Award for our small role in bringing this e-book to life," said Primos. "You protect what you love, and this project allowed us to share our love and understanding of whitetails to educate and inspire the next generation of hunters."

Kalkomey is the parent company of Hunter-Ed.com, providers of Internet hunting safety courses for more than 45 states. QDMA's Guide to Successful Deer Hunting is available as a free graduation gift to all who complete their hunting safety course.

"We are honored to receive this award from QDMA, and the fact that this e-book is the number one download among our hunter education graduates speaks to the importance of this modern guide to deer hunting," said Mitch Strobl, Vice President of Agency Relations for Kalkomey.

QDMA's Guide to Successful Deer Hunting is also available to the public through amazon.com. The book recently received the Innovations in Technology Award from the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).
