Michigan Outdoor News features update on proposed deer hunting regulations

(Plymouth, MN) — The May 26th edition of Michigan Outdoor News is on newsstands and in mailboxes this week, and readers in the Wolverine State will find an update on proposed deer hunting regulation changes that will be in effect in Michigan. Editor Bill Parker interviewed the Michigan DNR's deer and elk specialist, Chad Stewart, for insight into the decision behind the state National Resources Commission to delay voting on controversial proposals.

A revealing report examining a fund tied to royalties from gas and mineral extractions on public lands in Michigan that has doled out more than $1 billion in grants for more than 40 years is also included in the May 26th edition.

Anglers will find useful tips from Michigan's own Mark Zona, a national bass fishing celebrity, on catching pressured bass; a feature on the Michigan DNR trying to create the largest land-lock Atlantic salmon population in North America; top spots for catching walleyes in the Upper Peninsula; and an outline on how to outfit a fishing kayak with modern gadgets in this issue of Michigan Outdoor News, too.
