Cabela's Updates, Expands Tent Offering

Proven performance, expertise, advanced technology, state-of-the-art testing and more implemented into Cabela's 2017 tent lineup backed by Cabela's Lifetime Guarantee

SIDNEY, Neb.– Cabela's, a leading specialty Omni-channel retailer of hunting, fishing, camping, shooting sports and related outdoor gear, has updated and expanded its line of tents across all categories. New and upgraded options are now available for almost any backpacking, family or hunting campsite.

The company has been building tents for over 30 years, and has utilized its expertise to produce some of the most durable and accommodating tent options available in today's market.

"What started as a simple standard to withstand anything Alaska's elements could throw at our tents ultimately became the guiding principal for what we feel we owe our customers," said Alex Mousel, tent product manager for Cabela's. "Though some of our tents have evolved over time, our history of keeping customers comfortable and protected in some of the harshest weather conditions on the planet has given us dramatic insight into what a camper really deserves in a tent with Cabela's name on it."

After extensively reviewing all aspects of its tent line, Cabela's set out to infuse three decades' worth of knowledge into its 2017 lineup, focusing on features that are most important to customers.

"Our process is pretty simple. We want to know what customers like, what they don't like, and what we can make even better. From the thousands of customer comments we review, to the countless hours we spend in the field, we take note of any way we can improve the user's experience with our tents," Mousel said. "Our suppliers and state-of-the-art testing facilities are some of the best in the world, and some of our tent designs today are two or three decades old because of it. Ultimately, we're the guys that require a tent to survive the brutal conditions of the Alaskan wilderness, yet we also own the patent on sewn-in cup holders – it's only natural that our customers can expect the toughest tents and a great experience anywhere they want to camp."

Cabela's backpacking category expanded to offer three new tents and saw big upgrades in existing models. This extends a wide range of options and features to customers at various price points. The all-new Orion, offered in 2-person and 3-person models, provides a tremendous blend of value, comfort and durability.

Three new tents are being introduced in the hunting category. Two are available now, a third is coming this fall. Many established products, like The Ultimate Alaknak, have received updates as well. The most impressive of these changes is the Instinct Alaskan Guide Model Tent. After 30 years of tundra-proof performance it didn't appear there was a lot to improve on. However, bigger vestibules, more usable interior space and stronger strength ratings put this tent in a class by itself.

Family-camping tents received many redesigns in addition to three all-new models. The Westwind, already a favorite among customers, received updates including a much larger vestibule, color redesign and more organization options. The new Getaway Cabin tents offer dramatic increases in space, great organization and an option for a screen room.

Cabela's full line of redesigned and all-new tents is backed up by Cabela's Lifetime Guarantee and can be found in stores now and online at www.cabelas.com/camp.
