Lone Star Outdoor News available today

DALLAS — High water means flooded shorelines, and bass anglers are flipping into brush to find fish and win tournaments. There are a few tips to consider, though. And that underwater hump you remember from last year? It may be gone, or drastically changed, due to all of the water movement. Along the coast, vibrio infections are hitting again this summer, and coastal anglers are carrying bleach and making sure any cuts or scrapes on their skin is covered. The fishing is still good, though.

These fishing stories and more are in the June 24 issue of Lone Star Outdoor News, available today at LSONews.com.

Shawn Vickers has hunted his whole life, but his passion is making primitive bows, arrows and arrowheads. Also in this issue, Steve Barber's black lab, Raven, after making a retrieve and going through a barbed-wire fence, made a miraculous recovery (after six surgeries) from an infection caused by a flesh-eating bacteria found in ponds, especially in areas where cattle roam.
