Special Memorial Day Weekend Broadcast Set for Northwestern Outdoors Radio

We've got a special Memorial Day Weekend broadcast highlighting veterans who work in the outdoors industry and programs meant to get veterans and wounded soldiers outside and on the water for fishing, kayaking and more. We'll be talking to Jeff Mason, the founder of "Fishing Trips for Heroes" tells us about his efforts to help wounded and recovering soldiers and airman at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington State by getting them off base and on the water for memorable fishing adventures. In a similar vein, "Heroes on the Water" takes active duty soldiers, veterans and first responders out onto the water near Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon to not only go fishing, but kayaking too, as a way of receiving therapy in the outdoors. Tony Isaac, a Public Relations Director for this organization, will tell you more about it.

Our regular guest Lance Merz with Mack's Lure Company was a long-time US Army Military Policeman and Guide Anton Jones, owner of Darrell and Dad's Guide Service, is an ex-Army Ranger. Anton is a fishing guide at Lake Chelan in North Central Washington, a very popular Memorial Day Weekend destination. He'll be telling listeners about how to catch trout and kokanee out of this big, beautiful lake and offers up some suggestions on several nearby lake fisheries! www.northwesternoutdoors.com
