Award-Winning Show on This Week's Northwestern Outdoors Radio

Northwestern Outdoors Radio was awarded five Excellence in Craft awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America this summer and we are sharing a couple of our first place features with you this week! We'll start off by bicycling the Route of the Hiawatha, an old rail line, complete with trestles and tunnels, that is located along the forested border of Idaho and Montana. We'll also talk to Ken Coreson, the founder of Creating Memories for Disabled Children, about the camp he has and the outdoor adventures available for disabled kids near Wallowa Lake in Northeast Oregon.

In addition to these great interviews, we'll also bring Kelly Flaherty on board to tell his whopper of a fish story about the new Washington State record tiger trout he reeled in out of Bonaparte Lake in Okanogan County. Lance Merz has a handy item for you anglers out there who like to keep a tidy tackle box and David Sparks has got some scientific suggestions on where to dig up your next batch of earthworms on this week's edition of Sportsman's Spotlight!
