New Hampshire Offers Free Kayak Fishing Adventure Talk

CONCORD, N.H. -- Learn how to enhance your kayaking experience with the fun of fishing! Shawn Roche, a kayak instructor for the Mountain Road Trading Post in Raymond, N.H., will demystify kayak fishing at a free outdoor adventure talk at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H. No pre-registration is required.

In this introductory workshop, Roche will go over some of the many different types and styles of kayaks used for fishing. "Knowing the pros and cons of different types of kayaks can help you make a better choice for the type of fishing you do," said Roche. "I will also show examples of some of the many different accessories that can be added onto a kayak, such as rod holders, fishfinders, lights, and anchor systems."

The seminar will also include kayak safety and paddling skills for the kayaking angler - tips that can help make your day on the water safer and more enjoyable. "It's all about enjoying and having fun out on the water!" adds Roche.

Roche has been fishing both fresh and saltwater all his life. When he was fourteen years old, he built a kayak to fish from. He has also worked as a commercial fisherman.

This talk concludes Fish and Game's spring 2014 Outdoor Adventure Talks. Watch for more free talks this fall; details will be posted at http://wildnh.com in August.
