Vortex pellets are available in three lines to meet the standards of all airgun shooters, including Vortex Supreme Pellets for PCP (pre-charge pneumatic) airguns, Vortex Express Pellets for spring-powered airguns, as well a lead-free line for residents in California and other states with lead regulations.
A recent trend in the airgun industry has led to many airgun companies cutting corners and manufacturing products designed to shoot lightweight aluminum alloy pellets in order to achieve a high advertised muzzle velocity. These pellets have since become an industry standard and are readily available on nearly any store shelf. The biggest problem with these alloy aluminum pellets is that their light weight causes accuracy and energy upon impact to both be greatly diminished. Additionally, when they are shot from an airgun with true power they can partially deform before exiting the barrel.
