North Chesterfield, VA - Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, LLC has appointed Robert J. Kaleta to Director of Operations and Product Development. Formerly Director of Communications and Technical Operations for Zeiss, Kaleta will be responsible for all facility, manufacturing and distribution center operations. In addition Operations, Kaleta will continue to function in the key role of managing new product development for the North American market and will also continue to his role as a noted and recognized company spokesperson with media and industry relations. He will remain one of the primary Zeiss Sports Optics personalities with emphasis on television and radio appearances.

"Bob Kaleta's many years of experience in project management, quality operations, new product developement, in addition to being a hard core hunter, avid outdoorsman and optical expert make him the logical choice for this role."
Kaleta has been a Carl Zeiss employee for 22 years. Prior to joining the Sports Optics division, he has worked for the Carl Zeiss System Technology and Rx Lens divisions. He has numerous and proven successful years of experience in optical thin film coatings, special project, process managment, new product developement, manufacturing and communications. Kaleta is an avid life long hunter with both SCI and Boone and Crockett record-book entries. He is well connected with the industry media and maintians excellent relationships within the guide and outfitter community. He is also a member of the NRA, SCI, SCI North American Handgun Hunter's Chapter, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
