Whitetails Unlimited Welcomes New Mississippi Field Director
Passionate deer hunters in Mississippi now able to benefit from WTUprograms and events.

Whitetails Unlimited, the country's largest white-tailed deer conservation organization, welcomes a new Field Director in Mississippi, expanding WTU's series of fundraising events and bringing a unique way for Mississippians to raise money for local conservation projects.

Brian Kittrell, who lives in Brandon, is already busy organizing banquets to support WTU's mission of conservation, education, and the preservation of an American tradition.

"This is a great step for us as an organization, because we now have an outstanding representative in Mississippi, a state with a proud tradition of deer hunting," said David Hawkey, vice president of field operations for WTU. "We are confident that Brian will be a true advocate for his chapters. Brian has great experience and knowledge, and we're very excited about WTU becoming more active in Mississippi, and being able to assist deer hunters with their local conservation projects."

Whitetails Unlimited has had many inquiries about conducting more events in Mississippi, and now that Kittrell is in place we can expand our support for the state's sportsmen and women, as well as organizations that are looking for a vehicle for fundraising that is easy, fun, and has tremendous benefits for the local community. Unique among conservation organizations, Whitetails Unlimited returns 50 percent of net event proceeds to local organizations, to be used for local projects.

Kittrell is an active hunter and recreational shooter. His background includes military service, law enforcement, and hunting and fishing equipment sales. He also manages 1,300acres of recreational property, and enjoys teaching hunting and fishing to youth.

"Brian is a real hunter and outdoorsman, which means he understand our members," said WTU Executive Director Pete Gerl. "I've been struck by the passion hunters in the South have for deer hunting, and we're excited about expanding WTU events in this region of the country. Our programs and events benefit hunters and conservation, and we're looking forward to being a part of an American tradition in Mississippi."
