HuntingGPSmaps Partners With Mule Deer Foundation

SALT LAKE CITY-Mule deer, habitat, and hunters throughout the western U.S. will benefit from a new partnership between the Mule Deer Foundation and HuntingGPSmaps, of Missoula, which uses "the best data from the most reliable sources" to create maps for GPS and other uses. MDF welcomes its newest Corporate Partner in Conservation.

According to owner Eric Siegfried, "My hope is for all hunters to have the tools at their fingertips to help them become more successful and spend more time in the field. MDF is influential, and its members are the core group of avid big game hunters who have already shown that they buy products, volunteer time and make a difference for conservation."

He said, "We share their dedication. In many cases we have gathered and organized data from over 15 different sources to make a single statewide map. The maps have many detailed layers of information that would be way too cluttered to try to display on a paper map. But with the layering and zooming capability of the GPS, we're able to fill the map full of useful information such as property ownership, landowner names, topo, and hunting units, yet keep the display clean and organized. It's this quality of data, amount of data, and organization of it all that sets us apart."

HuntingGPSmaps Matt Seidel said the owners and employees are avid hunters who have seen the great work of MDF and realized that they could help the cause and help their business.
