Jones Joins Orion Entertainment

Denver, Colorado--Officials from Orion Entertainment, the world's largest producer of outdoor adventure programming, have announced the appointment of Shane Jones to the post of Vice President of Sales. In that role Jones will have oversight of Orion media marketing sales and integrated strategies. Jones and his family will relocate to Denver and work from Orion's corporate headquarters.

Jones brings a wealth of outdoor related marketing and sales experience with some of the top brands in the industry. Jones' connection to the outdoor television industry began in the early 1990s as host and Executive Producer of Wildlife Quest and has since worked extensively with ESPN2 on the production side of the business and on the sales and marketing side with Pradco Outdoor Brands, where he ultimately stepped into the role of Director of Sales and Marketing for one of POB's sister companies, Commonwealth Productions. Having developed proprietary branded series along with marketing and integrated strategies that have dramatically boosted sales, Jones background is an ideal fit for Orion Entertainment that continues to pioneer multi-platform and multi-channel marketing strategies for the industry's most successful companies.

"It's all about delivering unprecedented value across multiple video-centric platforms," says Jones. "But it starts with high quality television production that is key to feeding the pipeline of burgeoning new media marketing platforms. No media company in the outdoor space understands that better than Orion."

Jones extensive experience in both the hunting and fishing industries positions him well as Orion continues to grow its reach with productions on eight networks including History, Discovery, Discovery's Velocity, VERSUS-NBC Sports Network, Scripps' DIY Network, Outdoor Channel, Pursuit, and Sportsman Channel.

"I've known Shane for many years and watched him progress into a savvy marketing strategist who has intimate knowledge of the outdoor space," says Orion Entertainment President, Chris Dorsey. "We're delighted to add Shane to the team with his wealth of experience in manufacturing, TV production, and media sales and marketing."
