Colt's Keys Featured In Exclusive Interview

Lt. General William M. Keys, USMC (Ret.), the venerated outgoing president and CEO of Colt credited with bringing the iconic American firearms company back from economic and litigious distress is featured in an exclusive interview in the February/March 2011 issue of Western Shooting Horse Magazine on newsstands now.

In the in depth interview, the highly decorated bulldog Marine tells Western Shooting Horse publisher, Ken Amorosano about his upbringing and his time as Commanding General of the 2nd Marine Division where he led some 16,000 Marine and 47 Tiger Brigade forces in its successful assault on Kuwait City during the Persian Gulf War. Keys also talks about serving under General H. Norman Schwarzkopf and his retirement from the Marine Corps after 40 years of service.

Keys gives insight into the challenges of bringing Colt out of a debilitating period when dozens of municipalities around the country had brought frivolous lawsuits against Colt and other handgun manufacturers and talks about the significant establishment of the Colt M4 Carbine as the standard issue combat rifle of the United States Army and Marines.

Keys also talks about becoming a father late in life, about his love for horses and his personal views on favorite guns and the right to bear arms.
