Two New Pre-Charged Pneumatics for 2010

ROCHESTER, New York - Crosman Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in products for the shooting sports, introduced two new pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) pistols for 2010, the .22 caliber Benjamin Marauder PCP hunting air pistol and the .177 caliber Crosman Silhouette PCP target air pistol. Both models will be displayed at the 2010 SHOT Show.

According to Scott Alread, Crosman product manager, "The success of PCP technology in the Benjamin rifle line encouraged us to apply the technology to the pistol category. We felt both hunting and target pistols would benefit from less recoil and quieter operation. Compared to spring airguns, pre-charged pneumatics produce virtually no recoil," he said. "As a result, PCP pistols for hunting and target competition are very comfortable and effective to shoot, delivering unrivaled accuracy."

The new .22 caliber Benjamin Marauder PCP hunting air pistol is ultra-quiet and packs more than enough power for small game hunting and pest control. "With practice, it's plenty accurate to easily take small game from out to 30 yards," Alread said.

With a similar adjustable, match-grade, two-stage trigger package as on the Marauder air rifle, the Marauder PCP Pistol also features a self-indexing, multi-shot clip. Its shrouded barrel muffles shot sound and the CenterPoint Precision Optics red-dot scope helps to zero in on the target. Another convenient feature for field shooting included with the new Marauder PCP pistol is a stock extension for shoulder-mounting the gun. According to Alread, the 3000 psi of compressed air provides the magnum power to get the job done.

"The new .177 caliber Crosman Silhouette PCP pistol is a transitional model between sporters and the more expensive match guns," said Alread. "Growing out of our experience with the PCP CH2009 Challenger competition air rifle, the Crosman Silhouette PCP pistol is engineered for both target and silhouette competitions, where precise shot placement is crucial. When you use our PCP technology, you're at a great advantage over competitors by not having to repeatedly pump between shots during a match. Since the Silhouette PCP's power is uniform on a shot by shot basis, its consistency is excellent."

An intermediate-sized, compressed air PCP pistol, the new Crosman Silhouette PCP features a German-made Lothar Walther™ precision barrel for increased accuracy, providing quarter-inch groupings at 30 meters with almost no recoil. With shooting at velocities of up to 450 fps, the Crosman Silhouette PCP meets requirements for both International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association (IHMSA) and NRA competitions.
