Waypoint Podcast Network Sees Rapid Growth as Podcasting Becomes $1 Billion Industry

Waypoint to Quadruple Number of Podcasts by End of the Year

Austin, Texas – Waypoint TV, The world’s leading entertainment destination for hunting and fishing programming, is on track to quadruple the number of podcasts within the Waypoint Podcast Network by the end of the year as the podcasting industry as a whole sees rapid growth.

This year, Waypoint has shifted much of its focus to the Waypoint Podcast Network, and in doing so, has expanded its offerings beyond traditional hunting and fishing content. Listeners can train competitive field and dock dogs with Super Retriever Series, forage for edibles and raise pigs, cows, and chickens with Homesteady, immerse themselves in the Alaskan wilderness with The Mediocre Alaskan Podcast, or even learn about spear hunting in the ocean with SpearFactor.

“Waypoint podcast network has been an amazing place for all outdoors enthusiasts. We love Waypoint because anything hunting or fishing related, we can find so much content to consume on the subjects we love to hear about,” says host of the Paddle N’ Fin Network, Brian Schiller.

In the U.S. alone this year, the number of Americans who listen to podcasts has increased to over 120 million. Popularity among podcasts only continues to climb, with forecasts suggesting that number will grow by another 20 million with each passing year, according to statista.com. And as the industry expands, so do the benefits for podcasters. Waypoint has created a Facebook group, open to all podcasters within their network, giving them the opportunity to connect with one another and maybe even guest-host on each other’s shows. They’re also seeing their podcasts become more profitable.

“The Waypoint Podcast Network has exploded in growth. My podcast has also grown because of the increased exposure, however, the real growth has been financial. The ads are sold and inserted without me having to do anything. The podcast is actually making money for the first time, which allows me to focus entirely on making great content,” says Tom Rowland, host of The Tom Rowland Podcast.

Waypoint shows no signs of slowing down. In the past month, Waypoint has signed big names such as Truth from the Stand, featuring host Clint Campbell, and Dan Stanton’s ElkShape (pictured), which focuses on the discipline and fitness required for elk hunting. For outdoorsmen and women alike, there seems to be something for everyone, and those options are only expanding.
