NAGA Announces New Communications Director

Stephanie Spika Hickey has joined the gamebird industry’s trade association as its Director of Communications. Stephanie is a seasoned marketing and communications professional who has previously served in similar roles with Safari Club International, the National Rifle Association and Benelli USA.

Stephanie is passionate about preserving our hunting heritage, having grown up in rural Montana. She started hunting pheasants with her father at 11 years old and heads home every fall to continue that tradition. Stephanie is a proud military spouse, currently residing in the greater Washington, DC area with her husband Tomm, son Finnegan, and German Shepard, Ranger.

Stephanie assumes the role filled by outgoing Communications Director Britney Booth, who has successfully overseen NAGA’s overhaul of its entire communications operation with a new look for its website, logo and magazine. With a new baby on the way, Britney is dialing back her professional work to care for a newborn.

“The North American Gamebird Association is fortunate to retain the services of Stephanie,” said Brian Beavers, president of the association. We became familiar with her considerable skillset and background in 2018 and look forward to her continuing the modernization of our communications operation begun by Britney. While we understand her decision, we will certainly miss Britney and greatly appreciate the work she has done. We wish her and her husband, JT, well as new parents. We sure hope she will remain in touch.”

Britney has generously agreed to remain in the position through April 15, giving NAGA a transition period for Stephanie to learn about the job and the organization under her leadership. Stephanie can be reached at stephanie@northamericangamebird.com.
