Next Monday, January 20, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service celebrates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who lead the Civil Rights Movement in protests against racial discrimination in federal and state law.

As the federal agency that works with others to conserve wildlife and their habitat for the benefit of all Americans, the US Fish and Wildlife Service seeks to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. every day by managing public lands and waters while respecting civil rights and recognizing the value of diversity and inclusion.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. no refuge will charge an admission fee on January 20, 2020. Typically, a small number of refuges charge a minimal admission fee to help cover costs associated with enabling recreational activities. On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, no refuge will charge an admission fee.
