NBEF Provides Educational content for LearnHunting.org

RAPID CITY, SD – National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) Executive Director Marilyn Bentz recently worked with LearnHunting.org as a subject matter expert for LearnHunting.org’s educational content.

LearnHunting.org pairs new adult hunters with experienced hunters (mentors) who help them learn the basics and become confident hunters. Studies have shown mentors play a critical role when recruiting, retaining, or reactivating hunters, and LearnHunting.org provides a virtual connection between adults and volunteer certified instructors which can result in actual in-person shooting and hunting experiences. For the volunteer mentor, concise refresher courses on teaching a variety of hunting skills are also available. Bentz provided refresher information for the mentors on Teaching Strategies for Bowhunter Education and Tree Stand Safety.

“NBEF supports LearnHunting.org’s important mission to introduce adults to hunting through mentorship,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “While the NBEF also supports youth recruitment, we should cast a large net to recruit more people and help grow the sport of hunting for everyone.”

“This platform enables hunting and shooting sports educators everywhere to expand their knowledge and deliver a better experience to new adult hunters,” adds Alex Baer, Executive Director of IHEA-USA. “Partners such as the NBEF bring unequivocal authenticity and expertise to LearnHunting.org which benefits everyone involved. We encourage instructors to mentor within the platform, but this is not a requirement to access the many courses available.”

NBEF helps bowhunters learn to be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.

About LearnHunting.org

This project is funded by a Multi-State Conservation Grant and developed with the cooperation of Sport Fish & Wildlife Restoration Program, Midwest Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies, Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever, Nebraska Game Parks Commission and International Hunter Education Association - U.S.A.
