Shurhold Supports Bahamas Restoration Groups

Shurhold considers the Bahamas a second home and we have enjoyed countless trips to these beautiful waters. The people of the Bahamas have always been warm, kind, and inviting to the Shurhold family. We are certainly not alone, as these islands welcome thousands of visitors every year. The devastation Hurricane Dorian has brought to our friends in the Bahamas is unimaginable. The stories, pictures, and videos simply cannot capture how bad it truly is.

In the areas most impacted, they have seen a catastrophic loss of life, property, jobs, and schools. They are starting over in the truest sense of the phrase. In the short term, these people need fresh water, food, medical supplies, and some form of shelter. Over time, a massive cleanup will be needed along with the repair of homes, schools, transportation systems, and more. With all of our efforts and generosity, combined with those of the Bahamian government, these areas can be rebuilt and thrive.

There are hundreds of charities popping up to help and the choices are overwhelming of where to give. Shurhold has identified 6 charities that we will be donating to. While there are many to choose from, we felt these 6 had good plans in place to get help where it is needed most. Also, 2 of these have matching donation backers which will help grow the funds even quicker. At this level of devastation, nothing will be fixed overnight. The hardship and process of rebuilding will go on for years after the news crews have left. Shurhold will be making several donations to these foundations over the next year and encourage you to give however you can.
