Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear riflescopes, is pleased to announce that legendary shooter and longtime Leupold Pro Team member Doug Koenig has won the 2025 NRA Action Pistol Championship, held Oct. 17-25 at the Hamilton Pistol Club in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Like the Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championship, the World Action Pistol Championships has a course of fire featuring four events—the Practical, Barricade, Falling Plates and Moving Target. 2025 marked the 12th edition of the NRA Action Pistol Championships, which have been held at varying intervals since 1994. This year marks Koenig’s 8th win in the series. In his career, he has achieved more perfect scores than anyone in NRA Action Pistol history.
“Winning at this level requires dedication, preparation, and consistency,” Koenig said. “To win, I have to bring all three of those attributes to the table and I ask the very same from the brands I partner with–which is why I’ve partnered with Leupold for as long as I have. I know I can count on their products and their people when it matters most.”
A renowned sport shooter and one of the most decorated competitors in the history of American shooting sports, Koenig has won more than 80 competitive shooting titles in his career across numerous mediums–including an incredible 20 Bianchi Cup Championships.
“Doug is the very best in the world at what he does,” said Bruce Pettet, President and Chief Executive Officer for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “He’s a relentless competitor and personifies the grit and passion that personify the Leupold brand. We’re proud to have him on the team and in the Leupold family.”
