Aurora, Ohio – Outtech, Inc announced today that its board of directors unanimously approved the promotion of Scott Blackwell from executive vice president to president, effective immediately.

In 2017 Outtech created an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), transferring the ownership of Outtech to the employees of the company. Since that time, Outtech President Jay Scholes has worked closely with board members, Ron Rette, John Seliga, and Scott Blackwell to help drive the strategic vision of Outtech and expand beyond the traditional markets - focusing not only on hunting, but also expanding its presence in fishing and outdoor recreation. Outtech is now re-aligning its internal leadership structure to leverage each board members’ strengths and experiences to provide a more directed focus to grow our vendor partners’ business.

Jay Scholes, co-founder of Outtech and former president, will remain active as Outtech’s Chairman of the Board and CEO. Scholes is taking an engaged position as chairman where he will continue to be involved day-to-day and drive Outtech’s vision to be the best sales and marketing company in the outdoor industry.

Scott Blackwell will assume the role of president, where he will leverage his past experiences leading significant outdoor industry brands, to drive the growth of Outtech and our manufacturing partners. In his new capacity, Blackwell will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership of Outtech along with helping to develop and implement both internal and external facing processes to further enhance the use of data and business intelligence in helping our partner brands grow across all channels of sales.

John Seliga will assume additional responsibilities of expanded business development as well as continue to provide oversight of brands and internal personnel. Ron Rette will continue overseeing key retailer teams as well as lead the development of additional new key retailer channels.
