New urban and community forestry professional development opportunities are available from the Society of American Foresters, which recently released a new certification program recognizing green industry skills. Professionals can apply to gain the Certified Urban Community Forester or Candidate Certified Urban and Community Forester titles.

The new certifications are available for anyone working in the urban and community forestry field, and SAF memberships are not required to apply.
