QUWF’s Dr. Roberts attends National Trappers Association Meeting

Buffalo, MO: The Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation’s (QUWF) Board Member and highly respected expert on Furbearers is attending the National Trappers Association meeting in Lima, OH, from July 27th through July 30th.

“Dr. Roberts has been involved with the association for over 15 years in about every aspect of the organization, himself an avid trapper, and understands the extreme value trapping has in today’s furbearer management” states Craig Alderman of QUWF.

“Trappers, and upland game hunters along with wildlife conservationists / land owners share the same goals of sustainable use. Trapping is an invaluable resource tool in upland game management. When applied with the science of the conditions in the field, and they can vary dramatically, results can provide the balance desired” explains Dr. Roberts (Photo Right).

“Right now, there is a massive effort for the Best Management Practices to evaluate traps for efficiency, animal welfare, practicality and selectiveness. Continuing research and development are keys to any sport, trapping is no different. Whatever your interest is in trapping, you can find a wealth of information on this project and others at www.furbearermanagement.com and on the QUWF Website, www.quwf,net, under research, furbearers where we will continually post information and updates. Anyone can learn to trap and we encourage all to investigate the sport” concludes Dr. Roberts.
